Medicare Supplement (Medigap) vs Medicare Advantage. Do you know the difference?

Medicare Supplement vs Medicare Advantage. What is the difference?

First of all, original Medicare provides Part A and Part B. Briefly, Part A covers hospital expenses and is payed for by those payroll deductions you had taken out of your paycheck for years. Part B costs about $120 a month and is usually deducted from your monthly social security check. There is also a Part D that you need to pay for. Part D covers prescriptions. You can be satisfied with this or elect a Medicare Supplement or Advantage plan. Following is what I learned when researching both...

Seniors Looking and Feeling Younger

Seniors Looking and Feeling Younger

Aging? Who's aging!

Recently I made my weekly trip to a local deli. The lady who waited on me smiled and said it was her birthday. Then she frowned and said she hates getting so old. So I asked, “Old? How old are you?”. She responded by saying she is “celebrating the BIG 6-0”. I let her know that being 60 isn't so bad and that she is much younger than me. Of course that turned the table as she now asked how old I was. I responded with “the BIG 7-0!”. She looked surprised and said, “Wow! You are well preserved for your age!”. When is the Best Time to Retire

When is the Best Time to Retire

Simple! The ideal retirement age is 40! Retiring at 40 would be nice but for most of us not realistic. Well, if I stayed in the military I could have retired near that age! I was in the Navy from 1966-1970 and couldn't wait to get out. Now I look back and see the benefits if I had stayed in. Hindsight! Ugh! I was contacted recently on Social Media by someone I was in the Navy with but we went separate ways when we were discharged. It turned out he did the smart thing and went back in. Now he is getting a nice retirement. Good decision on his part!

So for the rest of us, when is the best time to retire? Good question.
